Harvested from the dried flower bud of the clove tree, each clove has a warm and woody fragrance perfect for deepening the flavour of many recipes. Their complex flavour profile includes peppery notes which can add a gentle heat to both sweet and savoury dishes. These cloves can be ground using a pestle & mortar to create an aromatic spice mix, or added whole to soups and sauces, however these should be removed before serving as whole cloves can be quite bitter.
